Too late to plant?

Just as an experiment I planted some Desert King watermelon today. I already have some growing. But I decided to fill in where the garlic had been.

They are pretty hearty plants so they may last and we have a long growing season, so we’ll see.

Peppers and tomatoes are coming around

We have yet to pick a ripe tomato or pepper but we are getting some contenders. Weather is warming up again, probably for good this time. Temps are still below 80 at night so plants are still setting fruit. It’s a productive time of year as long as the water is flowing.

We’ve reached the saturation point

There comes that time in the squash and zucchini season where you begin the gifting. We went from no production to hyper production (for us) in a couple of days. A couple of weeks later we are starting to distribute the proceeds.

Garlic too. I made three braids of the large garlic and hung it up. Then I made a large braid of the smaller bulbs. That one will be finding its home somewhere else.

The zukes need to step up

Yellow squash are winning. That’s all I’m saying. This is just from this morning.

Weather took a dip the last couple of days. A wind blew a lot of the dust and pollution out of the air and cooled things down.
